Adenium obesum - Desert Rose
This plant likes full sun. Keep it watered when it is actively growing new leaves.
When it starts to bloom in the spring and again in the fall, taper off the water.
Rain on the flowers kills them, and too much water will make it stop blooming altogether and start leafing out again.
The plant goes semi-dormant in extended cold weather.
There is a lot of variation in this species. This particular plant usually has a few flowers on it at all times. This picture was taken in December 2005, after a week and more of cool, cloudy and damp weather. |
